Dadaab, in northern Kenya near Somalia’s border, is believed to be the world’s largest refugee camp; more like a city than camp; and probably more of a prison than a city. The United Nations claims 350,000 people live in the three portions of the camp; probably a lot more. The camp, first established in 1991 as emergency shelter from Somalia’s civil war, will have been in existence for 29 years this year. Is this the future for refugees? We do seem to be putting more and more people in cages...
